Hello! We are medical students at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. As part of the Global Health Program, we are proud to be able to address global healthcare inequities and provide care to vulnerable communities across the globe. This May, our Global Health team will be traveling to Sonoyta and Puerto Peñasco, Mexico to provide essential care to local residents. While there, we will take care of hundreds of patients each day, many of whom do not have access to much-needed basic care.
We have a longstanding relationship with the Rocky Point Medical Clinic, whose mission is to provide free resources and care for those who may otherwise not be able to afford it. We support that mission by staffing the clinic with medical students and physicians to provide medical care to as many patients as possible during our time there. We engage in several trips per year to these same communities to ensure we are also providing continuity of care. Our long-term goals include offering healthcare education and training to local residents, as well as initiating a home-health program.
We would like to ask for your support in our mission to provide healthcare access for vulnerable populations across the world. Our medical trip to Mexico requires significant financial resources to cover travel, housing, and food for the students and physicians volunteering their time, as well as the clinic's services and supplies. We hope we can count on your support to help make a difference.
Thank you for your consideration and support. We will continue to keep you updated about the important work we are doing in these communities.
