Dalton and Dee Hakin and their two beatiful daughters are an amazing family. Dee is the best mother I have ever seen. She is loyal and honest, hard-working, creative, dedicated and loves her husband more than life. Dalton is the hardest worker, loyal and hilarious, and the best dad I have ever seen. He loves his wife more than his life. They make the absolute perfect couple and are each other's soulmates. I am blessed to have these people in my life and to be able to call them my family. They have had to deal with some very hard hurdles in life.
Last night my friend, and sister, Dee received a devastating call. The call that every person who rides or knows someone who rides a motorcycle dreads getting. The Reno Police Department was calling from the scene of a very serious accident that Dalton had been in and he was being rushed to the trauma unit,
Dalton had been riding his motorcyle when he hit, head on, a large suv near the rear end of the vehicle. The other vehicle was at fault.
Dalton has been in surgery for the last few hours. He is in the ICU with a picc line (a IV to your heart), a broken chest plate, a broken elbow, two broken wrists , a broken pelvis, a broken femur, a broken ankle, torn back muscles, a punctured liver and a swollen spleen. It is undetermined if this is all the injuries he has sustained or not as they are still reviewing tests, etc.
My purpose in creating the campaign is to raise, as much as can possibly be raised and more, funds for this family. This will be a HUGE financial burden amd extreme stress to them.
Dalton is one of the hardest working people I have ever known. His income is the main portion of the family income. He will be out of work for months or more. Dee wil have to take several weeks or more off to care for Dalton as he physically won't be able to. She will be under so much stress and pressure. They have an infant and a three year old which is an extreme cost. Their medical bills are going to be incredibly high. There is no State Disability in Nevada for those of you that may not reside here.
None of us have millions of dollars but if we each contribute something, even a $1, it will add up. They deserve any and all help we can contribute. They have a great amount of support and love in ways such as babysitters, meal makers, house keepers, grocery shoppers, laundry cleaners, a shoulder to cry on, etc.
I will be putting out a separate message for those that would like to help with these things too. Try to keep it organized and not bombard them personally.
I hope to get this fund moving quickly so we can give them both some peace of mind, in the financial arena.
