Grieving the loss of a Child

This fundraiser is to help my sister in law and her family during her time of grieving.  No one should have to lose a child and I could not imagine the pain her heart feels, the images and events that took place that keep getting replayed in her head, and the thought of the “what if’s” what if I did this instead of that or the feelings of guilt.
Nobody understands why things happen the way they do BUT for a mother to loose her child is literally a feeling no one should have to feel.  I am asking for everyone’s help so she does not need to worry about anything but taking care of herself until she can fully process and is ready to go back to work.
Being the best mom, working to provide, cooking, and cleaning are what we do as mothers but when you loose a child you don’t want to do any of the “normal” things you need to do. No Mother needs to feel obligated to jump back up and go to work until she is ready to deal with this unimaginable heart break.
On August 5th (2 days after his moms birthday) at 3:26am (his sisters birthday)Damien took his last breath and went to Heaven to be pain free.  He was fearless, loved to make people laugh, and made everyone smile even when he was not smiling on the inside.  Damien left memories on everyone he encountered even if he just met them once for a short period of time.  His sister Emma was his best friend and confidant.  He loved hanging out with his friends and getting into things any 15 year old teenage boy would, playing video games with his cousins, playing soccer, cooking, eating, and going to the beach with his mom and sister.  Most of all he loved his “MaMa” and would protect his family at any cost.
Unfortunately Damien dealt with mental health issues throughout his life that no one understands unless you go through the same struggles.  Deja (his mother) has done everything in her power to help him with these struggles, she is the best mom I know and sacrificed so much to be able to provide for him and Emma with everything they need. Trying to imagine her heart break or having to go back to work anytime soon, but life does not stop and her bills don’t either.  Besides her being able to stay home there are also little things that add up after someone passes so to assist this beautiful family at this indescribable time we are asking for donations to help for anything they may need.  Whether it may be medical expenses, funeral costs, funds while the parents are out of work, keepsake memorial items from the funeral home, or anything they may need at this time.  We appreciate all the love and support received so far.  Even if the family is not able to get back to everyone at this time just know everything is greatly appreciated.

If you or anyone you know is suffering from Mental Health issues and needs someone to talk to please reach out and even if you feel alone, talk to someone.  Even if it is anonymously.  There are people that care and can and will help you no matter
the circumstances.
