Candice is my friend. Candice is a friend to us all. But Candice is very sick and needs our help.
Candice is a beautiful 29-year-old who presents with a history of severe dizziness, syncope, inability to walk without falling, chronic debilitating headaches, life threatening GI issues and difficulty swallowing since September 2019. Her health has progressively worsened since then, especially after an intense battle with a viral illness in November of 2019. She has severe neck pain and often wears a neck brace. She has tachycardia. She has chest pain on a daily basis. She has a long history of brain fog and syncope. She has severe dysautonomia, severe chronic fatigue, mass cell activation syndrome, hypermobility syndrome, dysphasia and other G.I. issues all likely secondary to an inherited genetic connective tissue disorder.
Candice cannot walk without a walker and relies on a transport wheelchair for appointments. She requires compression sleeves and stockings. With intense therapy, and a strong team of doctors from Albany, Glenville, Malta and Houston, Texas advocating for her recovery, she can hopefully get back to a normal life.
Candice cannot work at this time. She cannot be alone. She requires frequent inpatient hospitalizations to manage hydration, headaches, blood pressure issues, and nourishment. At this time, she is on a mechanical diet due to severe issues with her esophagus. She battles dizziness and nausea throughout the day and has a history of hypermobility in several of her joints.
Candice has thousands of dollars in outstanding medical expenses due to a previous high deductible insurance plan. In addition, she continues to receive weekly blood tests, IV infusions, and physical therapy.
