Eberle Funches 2015 CrossFit Games
Donation protected
I am Eberle Funches from Panama City Beach, FL and I've qualified 15th in the WORLD for the 2015 CrossFit Games in the women's 45-49 age group.
I need your help getting there. Below is my story as written by my friend Jade Bowser:
"I am who I am, because of THIS".
After retireing from a dozen years as a triathlete at age 40 and then working a high stress job for nearly 3 years with no exercise, Eberle tried CrossFit in 2012 and fell in love! Deciding to follow this newfound passion, Eberle received her CrossFit Level 1 certification in June 2012 and went on to open Battleship Crossfit in September 2012 with her boyfriend Wil. "I spent the first 8 months scared to death. I had no teaching or coaching base, just PASSION. I knew that learning and honing my skill set I could help people change their lives."
Eberle and Wil's lives are dedicated to enriching and touching the lives of every single person that walks through their doors, every single day. "There are no sick days, we are always on." "Even if I'm not diggin' it, I'm doing it," which is quite possibly the very foundation of Crossfit. Most days....she's diggin' it! This girl is a BEAST! She teaches 6 classes a day and finds time to get 2-3 hours of personal training time too.
Eberle's competitive drive and hard work is paying off. This year, out of 6,200 women in her age group (45-49 years of age) worldwide, and 600 women in the Southeast region itself, Eberle won the State of Florida and also won the Southeast region, finishing the CrossFit Open in 28th place. This took her on to the Masters qualifier, where she went on to finish 15th in the world, qualifying her for the Crossfit Games in July.
Battleship CrossFit's social media pages consistently use the hashtag #strongertogether because this is how these lives are changed daily. Eberle says "I can't separate the coach, the athlete or the owner, because I am all of it." She is there to cheer you on, teach you, coach you, hug you when you succeed and lift your chin when you fail. She is a coach, a mentor, a therapist, and a friend.
In her spare time away from the gym, which is not much, Eberle prefers to give back to the very same community that she has found a home in. Weekends are spent volunteering at CrossFit events such as Atlantic Regionals, as well as competing locally. Charity organizations benefit from Battleship's generosity as well, such as the Gulf Coast School for Autism and local schools. Eberle gives back because these opportunities and these organizations are about her community, her sport, and her love for health and fitness.
Eberle truly feels that her qualifying for the CrossFit Games' world stage is a direct result of hard work and community. So with her cheering squad in tow, Eberle and Wil will be making the journey with family to Carson in July and she needs your help!!
She has brought pure joy and light to this community and she has wiped the tears of triumph and defeat.
Please consider donating to help enrich the life of a woman who has given so selflessly in this community. Every donation helps to put Eberle on this road to the Games.
These donations will aide in defferring the cost of housing, airfare, transportation, nutrition, mobility, and expenses at her home box while they are away in Carson. Every donation will pave the way to greatness (and a lot less stress and worry) for Eberle and Wil and we can make it happen!!
Because we are #strongertogether, together we can help Eberle realize her dreams. We can enrich her life the way she has enriched and fulfilled ours. And we can send her to Carson and help her prepare to take on the Crossfit Games with as little worry as possible.
Success cannot be achieved alone. This community has the opportunity to help Eberle believe, conceive and achieve her dreams and goals in the same way that she helps the community achieve theirs.
This fundraising goal needs to be met by June 26, 2015
