My bestfriends brother Joshua is currently in hospital in Thailand after a traumatic accident that has left him with life-threatening injuries, far away from home and everyone who loves him.

Most seriously, Josh has suffered severe injuries to his neck. Several vertebrae in his cervical spine have been fractured, including a major break high in his neck. Doctors have told us this injury is extremely serious and that he urgently needs surgery to stabilise his spine and give him the best possible chance at recovery.

In addition to his neck injuries, Joshua has a deep open wound to his scalp, fractured facial bones to his cheek and upper jaw, and a broken rib that caused his lung to partially collapse and become badly bruised — making even breathing painful.

The cost of the urgent surgery Joshua needs is $55,000. Facing this while overseas, in severe pain, frightened, and unable to work has been overwhelming. Joshua is exhausted and scared, but doing everything he can to stay strong in an incredibly difficult situation.
