With all that is happening in the world and so many causes that need funding, I feel bad that we are in a position to ask for help. We are a senior citizen couple who, at the beginning of December, were informed by our landlord that  he is selling the house we have lived in for 13 years. We have to move! Unfortunately,  we have no family with the finances to help us move nor do we have family close to us. We are asking for help to make the move.

We both have some health issues.  My husband has severe arthritis in his hips and knees as well as diabetes; I had a stroke in June of this year. As a result of the stroke, I was unable to return to my  job. I was unable to get SSI or unemployment so we have been in a financial bind since then living only on Social Security. There are times most months where we cannot pay our bills.

 

We searched around our current area to find a new place to live. We were unable to find a new place within our Social Security budget.

 

We have 4 grandchildren in Portland, Oregon and we have decided to move to Portland to be close to them. However, we do not have enough money to rent the truck to get us up there. Your donation will be used to rent the truck (approx $2100), pay for gas, and  boxes for tv, and dishes,  and glasses and turn on utilities in Portland.

 

This is the first time I have ever asked for money from strangers, and I hope it’s the last, but I have no choice. Any amount you can and want to donate will help us. We have 30 days to get out of here. I am in constant panic mode which is not good for a stroke patient. Whatever you donate will mean the world to us. A new start in a new state. A new chance in our senior years.
