On the night of 12/22/22, my oldest sister Rosybel went to the ER in the Dominican Republic due to a severe headache she had been suffering for approximately 4 days. She was advised she had a brain hemorrhage and was admitted to the ICU until further testing. After being able to perform the test 4 days later, she was told she was born with an arteriovenous malformation which is a tangle of vessels and veins on the right side of the brain. After being in the ICU for approximately 4 weeks, the Neurologist performed an embolization to prevent another hemorrhage. Unfortunately, due to her severe condition, she requires 3 surgeries costing $18,000 each. During each surgery, she risks losing mobility, memory, sight, or even facing death. We are fighting to allow my 35-year-old sister to raise her 8-month-old baby boy and live a life of pain and restrictions free.
In the pictures, we can see the black spots which were the brain hemorrhage and in the other pictures we can see the severe tangle of her vessels and veins of her brain that cause the hemorrhage and is threatening her life.
