DM Dance is looking for a permanent home here in the City of Slidell. It has been 5 years since the inception of DM Dance. During this time, there have been many highs but also a few lows. One of those lows being a location. We’ve been in the bywater, Gentilly, and Uptown areas but those locations didn’t care for the noise levels in their neighborhoods when it came to a studio. After doing an assessment on the next move for the company, I realized that moving to the outskirts would be more beneficial, which led to my move to the Ponchatoula/Hammond area. All seem to be going as planned, but then Covid hit which brought about a shut down and enrollment dropping and eventually coming to a complete stop. As the world slowly began to open, and moving to Slidell I realized that the City of Slidell is where I want our permanent home for DM Dance. I know that I’ll be able to grow as a company and studio here. I also believe in providing a stable and professional dance studio that includes all of the necessities for dancers: mirrors, Marley flooring, sound system, etc. All of this was damaged due to Hurricane Ida. DM Dance prides itself on being resilient and any donation that you are willing to give would be greatly appreciated as we move forward in rebuilding and rebranding here in the beautiful City of Slidell. It has always been a dream of mine to provide a safe and inclusive space for young, emerging talent. While my company is training at the highest level, I still believe everyone deserves the opportunity to just DANCE. Providing a permanent space for DM Dance will offer dancers an opportunity to have a solid, creative place. Our goal is $10,000, which would go toward recovering the damages lost during the storm, rent, and hiring qualified teachers.Thank you for your time and donations.
