Support first-gen college student after housefire

My name is Tianna, and I’m a college student at CCSU studying biomolecular science with hopes of becoming a physician assistant. A few days ago, I discovered my house on fire. I had just come home from an exam to witness black smoke spewing out of the room right next to me. I frantically ran around making sure no one was home. It was a terrifying and traumatic experience, and I still can’t believe how quickly everything changed. My landlord placed us in a hotel until Friday, but after that, I have nowhere to go. I live here year-round, so this was my only home. I lost nearly all of my belongings, including electronics, clothes, and bedding. My items have been exposed to soot, carbon monoxide, and mold caused by the fire and the water used to put it out. Clothes and bedding exposed to mold are unsafe to keep and can lead to respiratory and other health issues. the Electronics i had on the main level of the house are all water damaged and other items exposed to soot and carbon monoxide are also dangerous and cannot be used. Replacing these items will be extremely expensive, and the process has been mentally and emotionally draining. My room is directly next to the room where the fire started, and we are all struggling to figure out what comes next. This happened at the worst possible time. It’s almost finals, and I’m trying to manage my classes, work, and the urgent need to find a new place to live while making sure I have the funds to move. I am very self sufficient and work diligently and pay for all of my things on my own. Every day feels overwhelming, and I’m doing my best to stay strong while trying to rebuild my life from nothing. I’m asking for help to cover temporary housing, essential items, and moving costs as I search for a new place to live. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and help me regain stability so I can continue my education. Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Your help means more than I can ever express.
