Safe hands Highland Hospice Fundraiser

Donation protected

I started the “Safe Hands, Saves Lives” group in April 2020 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal was to promote simple public health measures that help prevent COVID-19 transmission, and to inform people in the Highlands of the local situation. During this time many charities have lost funding streams. I hope to help change that a little and raise some money for Highland Hospice by cycling the Etape Loch Ness on Sunday the 22nd August.

My main role as a GP in Beauly has given insight of the wider effects of the pandemic. Patients across Scotland are presenting much later with symptoms. This sadly has resulted in people being told they have late stage incurable conditions. This applies to cancers, heart disease, lung disease and many more challenging conditions. The Highland Hospice team offer so much to so many. Providing advice to Primary Care Teams to help keep people at home, and gold standard inpatient palliative care. They offer a listening ear and a helping hand to many vulnerable people and families. Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Highland Hospice and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
