Brian’s Journey to Recovery

Hi my name is Ethan Weeks. I'm trying to raise money for my father Brian weeks. About 12 weeks ago my father came down with a severe case of covid 19. My Dad had to be immediately rushed into an ICU unit, hooked up to a ventilator, had to remain sedated and heavily medicated for the next several weeks. My father struggled for the 1st month trying to breathe with the ventilator. At the beginning his doctors expressed to my Mother and I, that they were doing everything in their power possible to keep him alive. As weeks passed The doctors began to not be so optimistic about my fathers chances of living. Over the course of several weeks dad had remained heavily medicated and sedated. Doctors and nurses had to pay close attention to my dad's blood work, vitals and overall comfort. Over this course of time myself and my family were able to visit him. We were able to visit him one person per day, until he was able to get off the ICU floor. After 8 weeks of him being sedated, doctors were finally able to wake him up. Due to all the heavy medications he was very incoherent and very non-comprehensive for the next couple weeks. By week 10 my dad had made enough improvement to get off the ventilator and stay off the medications. My dad is going through medication detox and physical therapy and to help regain his strength and relearning how to walk and live his what used to be normal life. Due to the physical toll that covid has taken on his body and causing him to be in a very long recovery. We are looking to try to help him catch up from his strenuous hospital stay to help him get back on his feet.
