Vivian's Fund for Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Vivian. I have been diagnosed with ATRT and have been undergoing treatment for the past two years. I have been in and out of the hospital, have undergone multiple surgeries, as well as chemo and stem cell transplants. I am very blessed to be surrounded by loving parents, family, friends and supporters of children with this disease. But my fight is far from over .....

What is ATRT, you ask? ATRT is formally called atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor. It’s an extremely rare type of brain tumor that mainly affects children under age 3. Occasionally, older children can be diagnosed with ATRT.

They don’t know what causes most pediatric brain tumors. However, about 10 percent of all ATRT cases have what’s called a germline mutation, or a hereditary genetic abnormality that increases the patient’s risk of developing ATRT.

ATRTs make up about 3 percent of all newly diagnosed brain tumors, with about 100 new cases each year in the United States.

This page has been started in order to help my mom and dad with my medical expenses. Medical bills, medical supplies, prescriptions, nursing visits, insurance costs and around the clock oxygen can be very costly.

Our family and friends ... as well as the community have welcomed me into their homes and I am so thankful for your support.

It is May - Go Grey for Brain Tumor Awareness Month!
