American Dream
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Priscilla, and I need your help.
I am fundraising to help make my American dream a reality.
It has been a lifelong dream of mine to live in the United States.
I joined Keller Williams back in 2016 and learned about our global family, I attended events here in the US and knew in my heart of hearts I needed to work hard if I wanted to call this beautiful country home... In the past, I have tried several visa options suggested by not-so-great attorneys and have accumulated a ton of visa debt from unsuccessful applications (thankfully all paid off now). I managed to move to Illinois at the end of 2018 and for the first time in a long time, it felt like I belonged. I was surrounded by big thinkers, people who believe in the impossible, and I was given opportunities to build and work and grow.
I continued trying to obtain visas with no success and in June 2020 when the world got struck by the awful C word which we will not mention, I had to pack up everything I knew and loved in 2 suitcases and move back home and sit in quarantine - I felt hopeless, lost and suffered severe depression, the last thing I wanted to do was try again for any type of visa because of all the disappointment...
Luckily with the technology advancements of the day, I was still able to work remotely from South Africa and continue being a part of the wonderful EtoP family. Fast forward to October 2022, I knew it was time to plan a trip back to the States to build and continue to foster relationships. I arrived at the end of December to a very very mild winter, keep in mind I was only planning on staying till April (does anyone have extra clothes for me for May lol) again I was given another opportunity to support at another Market Center, our mothership Naperville and surrounded by even bigger thinkers. The visa dream once again spurred in my heart.
I applied for the visa I had been trying for 5 years to get, it is called an H1-B and is a completely random lottery. I had read that 2023 would be the worst year to apply as the odds are so heavy against anyone even trying. The US government received over 550 000 applications and can you believe that I was one of them that was selected- if that is not a sign from God himself that this is what I am supposed to be pursuing with my whole heart, then I do not know what is.
This is where I need help from you, this is a breakdown of the fees that are needed for this visa and I am leaning on the people whom I have come to call family as I have zero other blood family over a year - just a crazy kid with big dreams :)
