Okay friends Melissa and Arthur need our help, they are always the helpers.
Two years ago Melissa was rear ended and sustained a brain injury and has to have PT to learn to use her brain again. She was left with memory loss where there are times she wants to say something but cant find the words or she will be in a sentence and will totally go blank or forgets what she is doing. Her Neurologist put her out of work but she tried to stay part time hoping to go back full time. Because of her injury she struggled with part time, her employers felt she no longer can do what is required as her Dr agreed. So she was put out of work permanently. She has been backed by her Dr to apply for disability, she will not be able to work again. It has been done, but you know how long they take to process. She carries the health insurance for both of them and I am sure most of you are aware how much Cobra Insurance cost. But she has to have it, to do her therapies and to see her specialist and prescriptions. Arthur just had to have a knee surgery and is still recuperating, and when you are self employed you don't have sick time. They have had a tough go and I know many of you know that Melissa and Arthur are the ones everyone calls. "NO" is not in their vocabulary!!! When Sedona was very sick when she was vomiting blood and bloody diarrhea, I called them and they were here in a flash. Both of them had diarrhea all over them, Melissa sat in the back holding her. They had just bought their vehicle and it also had diarrhea all over it. They didn't care, all they wanted to do was get us to the Animal ER!! I have witnessed their kindness over and over with other people. No one is ever a stranger to them, it amazes me!
Because of very little income, they are now facing foreclosure on their home! I felt I needed to do something to help as they would never ask, Helpers don't ask for help, and that's who they are!! There are so many dogs that are alive because of Melissa and Arthur fostering, hundreds of them, sometimes more then 1 litter at a time besides their own dogs and adopting some of their own fosters. They took a Great Dane who had Megaesophagus as someone asked them too as the breeder was going to euthanize him. They gave him a life to live, having to blend his food every meal time and getting him a special feeding apparatus. He was loved!! They have taken in other dogs that have been given poor prognosis and not suppose to live, and yet they are still here today. When dogs have gone missing, they have been asked to track them and set up feeding stations, I have talked to her in the middle of the night as they go and check the station and put more food. They do so much for so many people and animals. Thank you for considering donating to help the Helpers.
