Earlier this week, my dad, Jason Ribeiro was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. He went to the hospital for stomach pain and left with his, our world changed. In coming days he will have a port placed and begin receiving intense chemotherapy. From there, we will move forward one step at a time, tracking his progress, fighting right alongside him.

I'm creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my dad. While he does have insurance, unfortunately it will not cover all medical costs, and life does not pause in tragedy, so I am creating this to help ease some of the financial stress during this difficult time, for the medical costs insurance will not cover, travel transportation, living expenses, loss of income, long-term financial hits and overall lifestyle changes!

If you know my dad, you know he is the definition of a hardworking, loving, empathatic, funny, generous man. He's the life of the party, the one who will drop anything to help someone else, and the one who always knows how to make people laugh. My dad is the kind of person who never asks for anything, never asks for help, and has always shown up for others. Now it's our turn to show up for him.

My biggest hope is to take as much financial stress off his shoulders so he can focus on healing, staying strong, and holding positivity. I admire his strength, courage, and the way he is already facing this head on with determination and hope!
