Nick's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Hi, our names are Kelsey and Jarred and we are creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Jarred's cousin, the one and only Nick Jenson. Let me start off by saying that without a doubt Nick is a blessing not only to us but to everyone in his life. He works hard in both his professional and personal life. He has maintained positivity and love throughout his cancer journey and has never asked for anything along the way. A little bit about Nick; he is the eldest child of Lori and Mike Jenson and is brother to Katie Jenson (his AMAZING bone marrow donor). He has a loving girlfriend Claire and is a cat daddy to Malcolm. He is a diehard sports fan and is looking to follow his beloved Minnesota Vikings all the way to the Super Bowl! He tells a mean dad joke, and he loves Sir Harry Styles.
Nick was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 16, 2018. A little snippet about this specific type of cancer- it is also known as B-ALL. It is a type of cancer that affects the bone marrow and white blood cells, in which the lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, grow out of control and take over the bone marrow. Nick underwent treatment and went into remission on November 30, 2018, finishing chemo on January 12, 2022. He was diagnosed again on May 6, 2022, and underwent a lifesaving bone marrow transplant nearly 4 years to the date of his original diagnosis on October 18, 2022. Following his bone marrow transplant, Nick resided at City of Hope for nearly 90 days while he recovered from his chemo and transplant.
Throughout the years after Nick’s diagnosis he has undergone a variety of treatments and hospitalizations, and as you can imagine, has accumulated a large number of medical bills. Shortly before he was diagnosed again in May of 2022, Nick and Claire took the exciting step of moving in together in February 2022. Just before that, Nick started a brand-new job as a sales rep for Karl Strauss in April 2022. Since his re-diagnosis, Nick has been unable to work and has instead had to focus on treatment, healing, and kicking cancer's ass. We are forever grateful to know that Nick underwent a successful bone marrow transplant, and in an effort to give back to him the way he so selflessly gives to us all, we would like to crowd-fund to assist with him getting back on track financially so that he may focus on his recovery while facing the fiscal responsibility that comes with it. All proceeds will go directly to Nick’s COBRA health insurance payments, medical bills, and everyday expenses.
WE LOVE YOU NICK!
