Journey to the World Championship!

Tom Heaton. Born and raised in the United Kingdom. Pokemon Go Pvp enthusiast and twitch streamer!
As of earlier this year, I have managed to qualify for the Pokemon Go World Championships in Hawaii, August 2024.
There is a reason why I'm so proud of this achievement.
In early 2023 I was diagnosed with a functional neurological disorder. Essentially my brain has problems receiving and sending information to the rest of my body. The main reason why this has hampered me since 2023, is the effect on my sleep. I now have chronic insomnia likely connected with the above, which makes daily life incredibly difficult.
Without going into too much detail, I have still managed to find time to compete in Pokemon Go tournaments because I really enjoy meeting the community and exploring new places.
It also shows that I can still compete with the best battlers in the world despite my condition.
Unfortunately the ability to hold down a full time job has been very difficult, with much of my finances going on tests/scans and appointments and ALOT of medication...
That said, I have decided to start this Go Fund Me in an attempt to gather some funds to help get me to Hawaii to prove that I can battle with the best again on the world's stage.
The community is everything to me; people have helped me throughout this process, and continue to do so. The support is truly amazing!
Any generosity and support financially will be put towards travel and accommodation in Hawaii. I wish my situation was different I really do. I often think back to 2022 and try and unpack what went wrong, but I'm not sure I'll ever know..!
I do hope you take the time to read this brief description, and anything you can do to support me is greatly appreciated :) I will be on twitch on the 24th June to celebrate my 31st birthday, you are all more than welcome to join me as we have some fun and entertaining battles!
Much love to all the Pokeon Go community,
