The Wilsey's from Homestead Natural Foods have lost everything but their home and their cows in the brush fire that has been burning rapidly near the Oregon/Idaho border. They are now going to be in need of help while they try to rebuild their Ranch and take care of the cows.
If we can at least raise enough money to help supply these cows with hay it would be a huge asset. I am asking to raise 50,000 which currently will buy about 250 tons of Hay.
This would be a great help to Ed and Debbie as winter is coming on and I know that securing feed for their cows is weighing heavily on their minds.
The Boise Co-op has offered to match dollar for dollar up to 10,000 for any co-op owner/member donations. If you are a co-op owner/member add co-op owner or member to the comments when you donate. Thank you for all of your help!
A little information about the Wilsey Ranch:
Wilsey Ranch Wilsey Ranch has been family owned and operated for 30 years. Our cattle and pigs are ran on intensively managed range in the Owyhee mountains their entire lives, feeding on a unique mix of grass and forbs. We supplement the cattle with ranch-raised hay in the winter months, and they are finished on irrigated meadows in the summer. The pigs are supplemented with all natural feed. They are not given hormones, antibiotics, animal byproducts, or genetically modified feeds; they are as natural as an animal can get. We handle our animals humanely and with respect. We provide them with a stress free life.
Our mission is to produce a healthy, nutritious, sustainable product, with a minimal impact on the environment. To care for the land for future generations.
