Keep BAM Operations Going!

Brownsville Artists and Musicians (BAM) needs your help! In the tradition of art spaces we have always collaborated between artists and musicians to create a beautiful subculture for the Brownsville area. Last Tuesday, during our most successful event to date, we were shut down for conducting a live show. Statutory laws have a line between galleries and the subject of live music that regulate capacity levels. Thanks to our well meaning improvements to improve the place for music events, we were asked to cease operations, apply for a new occupancy permit that includes the courtyard and storage area and get a brand new sprinkler system.

We don't have the capital to go forward with this alone. We need the collective to step in. BAM IS SUCCESSFUL BECAUSE YOU MADE US THE PLACE TO SEE ORIGINAL LIVE MUSIC AND ART. We appreciate the outpouring of support and thusly, have a request of all of you to please consider a small donation to the sprinkler fund so BAM can continue operations. We don't want to burn out. We have so much work to do. Tuesday was the most alive Washington Street has ever been and it's a testament to the amount of hard work and support put in by regular people who don't care for bars and consumerism, BUT RATHER WOULD LIKE TO REVITALIZE AND DEVELOP THE DOWNTOWN AREA FOR CREATORS AND THEIR SUPPORTERS.
