Bruce's Recovery

Hi Friends,

Just a little update on our big boi Bruce!

He is doing so well ❤️ he finished all of his chemo like a champ and is currently cancer free!! 

I have to say that this extra large lap dog is a bundle of joy. His sweet temperament and big dopey smiles have made him the star of the neighborhood. People always stop to give him a pet and see how he’s doing. 

Anything you can do to help continue his recovery is beyond appreciated ❤️❤️

Meet Bruce. He is a big, sweet boy.

A couple of weeks ago it seemed that he had a bee sting on his gums.

It quickly grew into a very aggressive tumor.

In order to save his life, a portion of his jaw had to be removed immediately.

The good news is that the cancer had not spread and he is in recovery. He's still a bit dopey and adjusting to his new life.

Unfortunately, the cost is more than Bruce's mom, Jessie, can manage alone. The bills, so far, are more than $7000 and he will need follow-up care. She was able to use her last savings to pay the first portion but will need help coming up with the remainder.

Jessie rescued Bruce from a Trenton Animal Shelter two years ago. She walked in the door and asked for the dog that needed her the most. She had no idea how much he would come to mean to her. She needs him as much as he needs her.

Her dream is to open a rescue focusing on hospice care to give ill or elderly dogs the best possible end of life. She is a hero at heart. (Even if she doesn't know that)

Jessie is her mother's full-time caregiver. Her mother is very ill and needs a lot of attention. This prevents her from working a full-time job at the moment. She has a part-time job grooming dogs but it was barely enough to get by on before Bruce's surgery. It is going to be very hard to manage the upcoming payments

Any amount that you can give to help this big boy and his mom will be greatly appreciated. They still have a long road ahead.
