As many know, I lost my job in June. I've used all my financial resources to cover bills and do not qualify for unemployment. I was able to pay the July and August rent and some of my other bills, but I now have an eviction notice sitting on my desk. I have until the middle of next month to get current. We'll have the funds for the October rent but we need help covering the costs of the September rent.
I'm taking a few steps to minimize my month-to-month costs. I'm entering into a debt management program to deal with my excessive debt, which will prevent me from getting further into debt. It will take four years to pay that off but then I will be free of debt (except student loans) and that will be much better for me. I'll also be reducing any spending on things like my hobbies. I've got medicaid and, for now, food stamps.
I'm also looking for work nearly every day. I've had interviews but so far nothing has produced a job offer. Because of my health issues, I'm not able to stand for hours at a time, which eliminates many jobs. I check Indeed daily and there's just not much out there for me.
