On Monday, May 26th, my son’s first home their safe place, their dream, their future was hit by lightning and quickly engulfed in flames. Within moments, everything they had worked so hard to build was gone.

They lost everything on the top floor (all the bedrooms) and the bottom floor was flooded, their clothes, furniture, kids items, memories, and all the little pieces that make a house a home gone. But through this unimaginable loss, we are clinging to the one blessing we still have they made it out alive. My son, his wife, and their son are safe, and for that, we are endlessly grateful.

Now, they face the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up with literally nothing but the clothes on their backs. They need immediate help with basic necessities: clothing, food, furniture for a rental house, children items, and day-to-day essentials.
