Hi Everyone,
This is Dan Meyers writing to you. This letter is about one of our own, Gary Morse. Gary is fighting for his life against pancreatic cancer. He went to the doctor with some stomach pains and after some tests, got the very bad news. Gary is very strong, but I know he has to be very frightened. Both his dad and his brother died of pancreatic cancer.
I can honestly call Gary my best friend. His wonderful wife Kim, their two daughters and their husbands and their five beautiful grandkids have made me feel like one of their family. Their wonderful support has helped me heal from the loss of my wife Cathy to cancer.
I know what support from friends means. And, I know how devastating a fight like this is on a family. What kept me going was family, friends, prayers, great doctors, and yes, money from some very generous people.
At the end of the fight, the savings are gone, the retirement fund is gone, you have to sell the house you wanted your grandkids to grow up enjoying and move into an apartment as every resource goes towards the 20% deductible cost, even with great insurance.
Gary would never ask for help financially. That’s just not Gary. So I am asking for help for he and his family. Our pickleball family is one of most caring groups ever. This Go Fund Me is a way for all of you to be able help. No donation is too small. It's the thought and the support that really counts.
As you know, this could happen to any of us. One day we are feeling great and the next day we are fighting for our life. If this happened to you, just imagine how awesome it would be for so many people to help you fight for your life and help you take care of your family even when the chemo makes you too weak to stand.
I have asked my friend (and Gary's friend) Pete Colvin to organize this fundraiser for Gary. We truly appreciate your help and your donation if you are able to do that. Please keep Gary, Kim, and the rest of his family in your hearts and prayers.
