I am Sakul Koirala and my wife Binita Adhikari, We live in Austin Texas, USA. I am originally from Bandegaun VDC of Sindhupalchok, Nepal, which is one of the highly impacted district by 7.9 magnitude devastating earthquake on April 25th, 2015. Bandegaun VDC of Sindhupalchok is about 40 mile east of Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. We have created this Gofundme account in order to help people back home in the best way we can. Earthquake destroyed our home and fellow neighbors. Based on the report 2500 homes destroyed in Bandegaun VDC which is more than 99 percent of total homes. More homes were damaged by May 12th 7.3 magnitude earthquake. Death toll is keep climbing. Death toll from the devastating earthquake in Nepal has risen to 8,413, according to Nepal Red Cross Society on May 7th, 2015. Many people have lost their homes, loved ones, and livestock.

There are many organizations trying to help. With administrative structure and overhead expenses, amount that really gets to the people affected in village is less than you may think. We want to help people in our village where I was born. we choose Bandegaun VDC of Sindhupalchok, because everyday we receive phone calls and email from our villagers asking for help. We want to raise money to help them buy foods and rebuild their homes.
