Unfortunate Amputation

On the night of September 17, 2021, 20-year-old promising student athlete, Sebastian Browns’ life was forever changed after an accident on the Mcarthur Causeway leaving him to be admitted to Jackson Trauma Center where he was battling for his life. During his 68 days in the hospital Sebastian underwent 5 surgeries, 2 medically induced comas, crushed artery (brachial artery) in his left arm, causing internal bleeding and total heart failure leaving him on a respirator and the doctors with a difficult decision to amputate his left arm to save his life.

Sebastian and his family entirely have to face overwhelming challenges that most people would not even find bearable such as immense medical bills, therapy, and most importantly a way to obtain prosthetics. After being discharged from the hospital, his goals and aspiring dreams as a student athlete, are hindered due to the fact he now must adjust to life as an amputee.
