Hi I’m a family friend of Olivia’s mother. 17 months ago the family courts decided to remove Olivia because everyone failed to do their job. Olivia had mentioned parental abuse, physical when her mother tried to seek medical assistance. The doctor responded with it’s a family court matter, and she did not want to get involved. She failed to do mandatory reporting and by doing so when family court came around, Olivia’s mother was unable to provide evidence of this. Due to this negligence, the courts decided that with no physical evidence or medical and Olivia‘s word not being enough after she repeatedly disclosed to many other people, including DCJ workers. they responded with she was too young to be believed, and her mother must of coached her. With no evidence of this, they punished her by removing all parental rights, and she is now only allowed to see her daughter every fortnight for two hours in a contact visitation centre fully supervised. During these visits, Olivia has disclosed very clearly the abuse, and it is documented the courts do not wish to put this back in front of a judge, as this would hold them accountable for allowing a child to be abused. So instead, they have blocked every way for her to enter back into the courts. Even on these grounds, this little girl has remained saying the same story for many years and our Federal family circuit court needs to be changed. Legal aid have failed to give her a grant as they believe that, even with Olivia stating this after never being left alone with her mother it is still not enough to take this to court. Meanwhile, her health, hygiene and mental health has deteriorated. Every day I hear her mother cry, and it absolutely breaks my heart. She was the most amazing mother Olivia had every think she never had one complaint of neglect. She was only ever guilty of giving her daughter, everything and putting herself second. I’m today, asking for help to bring Olivia home we have finally found one solicitor that believes her story and believes Olivia. this Solictor has a plan to bring Olivia home, but due to the nature of how complex her case is, she has to work many hours to prepare this to be able to even get her a grant of aid to continue to represent her. I am asking kindly that anyone that sees this, even if it’s only a dollar please donate and bring Olivia home if the justice system and the child welfare system all say these are red flags but fail to do anything please give her the opportunity to fight through this solicitor, that believes she can get justice. A little girl needs her mother and someone to believe in her. Unfortunately due to the high costs of $260 every fortnight for two hours has taken a toll on her mother it may well look like Olivia might also lose the only contact she has with her mother as this is not sustainable due to the cost of living.
