This fundraiser is closed. As soon as I confirm everything is transferred I will delete it.
UPDATE: My car had to go back to the shop twice after they put in the used engine, for a persistent coolant leak which wasn’t there before. I am finally driving it safely again. The fundraiser money also provided our June house payment, necessary for our loan to go through, but they continue to delay the closing, despite the fact that we have provided everything they have requested. We are well past 8 weeks into this process, and still no loan. I want to repeat that we are so grateful for all of the help we have received from you all. We would be in much harder circumstances without your kindness and generosity. We pray you are all blessed abundantly for all you have given to us. It is our hope that we will soon pull out of this nightmare. Mike has not been able to repair his car yet. Bill collectors are blowing up our phones demanding payment. We trust that soon this will all be resolved. Thank you, again! Love, The Hudson Family
Update: They have finished replacing my engine but it was too late to pick it up today and tomorrow is a holiday, so I will get it Friday. Everyone really came together to help me get a good mechanic, who negotiated the best deal he could, and worked so fast to complete it. I’m so grateful for all who have shared this, donated, and even brought delicious meals. Many of you are friends of our children and I must say they have wonderful friends. To all our family, friends, & those we have yet to be blessed to meet: I pray you are all blessed with everything you need always. Thank you again, from the heart, Kelly
I was able to order a used engine with a one year warranty and they will try to have it installed by Wednesday or Thursday. I’m praying the funds transfer soon, so we can pay for everything. We are being quoted $6000 for that. Extending my gratitude on behalf of my family for helping us get through this difficult time. You are all such wonderful people. Thank you, again, and may you be richly blessed. ❤️
We are overwhelmed by the support we have received in less than 24 hours. You are all so generous and we pray you are richly blessed. We are very humbled that many of you do not even know us, yet you care. I set the goal amount higher on advice I received yesterday but now I wish to lower it, trusting that we will have what we need. Today is the first day I have not driven in at least 4 years. It’s very strange, I’ve been forced to rest. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. ❤️ Love, Kelly
Please Support Disabled Veteran and Family
We are in a dire situation after a string of hardships over the last several years. We have 12 children, 8 of whom still live at home while working and/or going to school. My husband has always worked hard to support everyone but his diabetes slowed him down when he needed amputations of the toes. He went back to work in Texas, only to suffer a major stroke and had to be airlifted to the hospital and then my son and I flew down to bring him home. That was in October, 2023. I took care of him at home for 6 months, during which time he earned no income. We were denied any help with food or other expenses from the state. During this time, we have had to live on credit and have not been able to secure a home equity loan to save our home and pay our debt. We made all necessary repairs and passed the inspections and still have no loan. Today I learned that my 2017 Kia needs a new engine, and will cost at least $5000. I received this news while driving my husband’s vehicle which has problems with overheating but we cannot afford the work it needs to fix it. Our resources are wiped out. My children are very worried about their father’s health, he has not been able to get into physical therapy here in Michigan at this time, with the VA. They worry about the stress on me too, as I take care of everyone including my disabled son who has Multiple Sclerosis. We had to cancel his doctor’s appointment today because we have no working vehicle. My children who work take Lyfts as often as they can but that is not economical. My husband starts a new job next week but it will be weeks before he sees a paycheck. The bill collectors call us nonstop and we cannot pay them. Our mortgage payment is not going to be made next month because we’ve exhausted our savings. My husband is a veteran and we are trying to get more help but it’s all red tape and delays. We need help. If we lose this home we have nowhere to go. My disabled son needs a special diet as he is allergic to most foods due to his psoriatic arthritis which also affects his immune system and digestion. All of these needs add up and we can no longer keep up. My dear friend offered to do this for us, and I must be humble enough to accept her help. I can’t watch my children cry anymore, with worry and fear about the future. I cannot work because I take care of everyone.
At this moment we are behind on everything including taxes. The credit card debt is very high as we had to use cards to survive since last October. Any money we receive would go toward fixing our vehicles and paying off our debts so we do not lose our home or vehicles.
If you can find it in your heart to help us, I know you will be greatly blessed. This would truly be an answer to our prayers. Thank you so much for your consideration. With love and thankfulness, Kelly Hudson and family
