Please Help the Kuhn Family

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart and great humility that we reach out to the community for assistance.

On the morning of Sunday, September 12, 2021, Jason Kuhn (44) was tragically killed in a freak ATV accident. Jason leaves behind his loving wife Dusty, daughter Kenzie (18) who just started her first year of college at the University of Alabama, and son Vance (15) who is a freshman at Karns High School.

Jason was a self-employed, construction contractor. He was always there to help anyone in need. He was a “Jack of all Trades and a Master of them all.” Jason and Dusty have a huge heart and has always looked for ways to help build our community. From encouraging others to support our local small business owners to opening their own thrift store to help build the community of Claxton.

This GoFundMe page has been created to help Jason’s loved ones with funeral costs and other expenses during their time of grief. Just as they have poured so much into the small communities of East Tennessee, please consider pouring some of that same love to help them.

Thank you for your support and please feel free to share this page, donate and if you knew this amazing man, please leave a comment, sharing your memories of Jason.

The story of Jason’s death made it to the media before the family was notified. So many false stories have been broadcasted by our local news stations live on the air and on their websites. No family should have to go through the pain that the Kuhn Family has. Because of the many errors made by the THP, getting legal documents such as a death certificate has been difficult. The family wants so desperately to put this horrible injustice behind them so they can properly mourn the death of their loved one.

The following was written by Kenzie Kuhn, Jason’s daughter, to WBIR:

“Why are you dragging my father’s name through the mud?

First, you publish the news of his death hours after he was pronounced dead, before I had been notified. Then you update the article to add the fact that ‘he was not wearing a seatbelt or helmet.’  Then you publish another article using his death to push an agenda. To say his death was avoidable if he would’ve worn a seat belt and helmet.

Did you know that there is no police report? That the THP lost his blood, and that there is no proof of impairment. That now they can’t run his bloodwork. That the police did not call the coroner to the scene. That the coroner never even saw my father’s body. That the THP physically restrained one of my father’s friends from helping revive him. Did you know any of that? No, you wanted to break the news first with any care of the repercussions.

I found out that my father had died from the news. Not my mother, not my grandparents. The news. Shame on you for using my father’s death to push an agenda, and shame on you for your complete lack of morals.”
