help Matt recover his stolen gear.
Well friends and Facebook friends,
What can I say? I am a professional guitarist/musician and father of two sweet little girls here in Austin. I'm just working hard and trying to improve my craft, my career, and the quality of life for myself and my girls. I work with and have worked with a lot of music groups you may have heard of here in Austin: Jon Wolfe, Progger, Kinky Machine, Curious Android, Naga Valli, In The Pink, The Royal Dukes, The Austin 9's, Sara Reisner, Eric Moore and Resonate, First Year On Earth, and Austin's Live Karoake band. On top of that, I am one of the top call guys in the local jazz scene. It's a pretty broad variety of music (everything from Country to RnB/Gospel to Indie Rock to an American Pop/Bollywood hybrid) and a lot of work to keep up with all of it. I come from pretty humble beginnings. All of the equipment I own, I had to work my butt off to get, and I need that gear every week if not every day to make my job happen. I was looking forward to getting it all insured this fall, when I would finally have the budget to do so. Unfortunately, yesterday morning dealt me a pretty harsh blow: an unknown broke into my car and stole everything but my guitars. My pedalboard and all my pedals and cables and my main amplifier were all in the trunk. Whoever it was made off with about $3000 worth of music equipment. So... I'm trying rebuild. I put a lot of work into that board and a lot of money into that amp to get it all sounding the way I wanted, and I would really like to have those specific pieces back. The amp is going to be harder to replace as it had really started to take on it's own personality, sound-wise. However, with the money goal I have here, I should be able to attain something comparable. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Most of you reading this are close friends and have already helped me so much, or already even voiced an interest in chipping in. I can't tell you how much gratitude I feel for the support I have already been shown. Thank you so much for your help and your time. It means the world to me.
Sincerely and with much love,
-Matt Muehling
