Nepal Earthquake Medical Assistance
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
My name is Jen MacDonell, I'm a Registered Nurse (RN) living in the Comox Valley. This Friday, May 15th I am being deployed to Nepal with the Canadian Medical Assistance Team (CMAT) for medical disaster relief.
CMAT is a registered Canadian Charity which prides itself on being a grassroots humanitarian relief organization, they are entirely volunteer run and donor driven. CMAT has set up a field clinic several hours from Gorkha seeing up to 100 patients per day. In addition, they have initiated several mobile medical clinics from this site, trekking into inaccessible villages treating ill or injured people who cannot travel.
I am looking to raise money for my flight and travel expenses over to Nepal where I will volunteer with CMAT to provide medical assistance for the Nepali people at this devastating time. Any surplus of donations beyond my travel expenses will be donated directly to CMAT and their relief efforts.
I am honored to be a part of the CMAT team and very thankful in advance for the support from my family, friends and my coworkers at the Campbell River Hospital Operating Room and beyond.
Thank you everyone for supporting the Fundraising night at the Prime Chophouse! It was such a fun night and I thank you for your amazing generousity, well wishes and hundreds of hugs!
