Heaven is a brighter, gentler, and kinder place with the passing of
Charles McClain. January 15, 1947 - February 16, 2021
If you are reading this, Charles touched your life.
Charles described himself as an author and a blue-collar worker. His talents and creative involvements speak for his true vocation. He wrote poetry since he was 15 years old. Charles also acted in the mid-70's with People's Theater and the Creative Center. He performed with the Hansberry Sands Theater and Cabaret Theater. He performed in the award-winning play Expectations by Adolphus Ward. Charles also did understudy work for the Milwaukee Repertory Theater in their productions of Meetings, Driving Miss Daisy and Fences.
Charles worked with Milwaukee Repertory Theater for many years, most recently via Anointed Cleaners. Charles worked his last shift the night of February 15th.
Charles was a poet. He shared with a friend that he started to use poetry as an outlet and a way to persevere a battle with cancer years ago. It was a way to show strength to those who were also going through the same thing.
There Are Stories To Tell.........
And the visions and memories live within you,
they yearn to be spoken aloud, as seasons
of tribulation and of glory count the years gone by...
And yet God, I know, watches over those
with windows within their hearts, within their eyes...
And with His grace their story
shall be told... -Excerpt, Charles McClain, 1995
In lieu of flowers or other memorials, we ask that you consider making a donation to help Charles' wife, June, with the funeral arrangements and managing the unexpected financial obligations. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
