Hey everyone. I understand how humbling this is, but we could really really use your help.
Short: An NYC squatter destroyed my home, and manipulated my partner thus causing delayed rent, bank overdrafts, shortage of food, and an impending eviction notice totaling in $3100 due Mar. 9th.
Long:
Yesterday I had a final negotiation with my landlady. This is the last option and is detrimental to my home. But I cannot tell her the whole story for fear of losing everything with no options.
1. My partner and roommate has a beautiful heart and allowed a transient friend to temporarily stay at our place while I was home doing Elf.
2. The friend turned out not so friendly. He could only pay very little and what he could it was extremely late.
3. When he finally left he destroyed my apartment out of fear/anger/aggression. Threatening me, my animals, and my partner.

4. We are fine. Cats are fine. Even he is fine. The apartment is not nor is my longevity at it.
5. Due to the immense amount of damages, compounded added safety, replacements, etc. We are way behind in everything.
6. I work as a part-time professor and do whatever odd jobs I can muster in my free time to try to catch up.
Due to delinquent payments compounded by banking charges, insurance, repairs, overdrafts, and the shortage of food, we only have one ultimatum:
I owe my landlady $3150 by March 9th or she will use my security deposit for rent in March and I am out by the 31st. I could protest and be a squatter myself, but not for the pain it causes and my integrity.
If you know me and my place, it has become a place of healing for many people. It's warm, welcoming, and open. I even get reiki practitioners wanting to use my backyard as a healing space. Someone took advantage of that and I am heartbroken. Please help me stay. And my cats.
