As you can see, Maame was a beautiful young woman — inside and out.
It’s easy to write kind words about someone who has passed, but in Maame’s case, these are not just kind words; they are the genuine truth of who she was.
Maame was kind-hearted, loyal, and genuine. She stood up for what was right and carried herself with quiet strength and grace. In the early hours of 19th October 2025, her life was tragically cut short at just 20 years old, due to a sudden health complication.
She was a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, auntie, and friend. Her passing has left her family and friends deeply heartbroken — both here in the UK and back home in Ghana.
Maame was a second-year student at Coventry University, where she was pursuing her dreams with purpose and determination. In her short but remarkable life, she achieved so much. One of her proudest accomplishments was serving as Head Girl at Achimota Senior Secondary School (Ghana) — a role that reflected her leadership, intelligence, and compassion for others.
Her deep love for children and their wellbeing also led her to found the Maame Ekua Esuon Acquah Foundation (MEEA Foundation), through which she sought to bring hope and kindness to those in need. Her first donation was made to children battling cancer at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, a testament to her selfless heart and commitment to making a difference even at such a young age.
Heartbreakingly, just three weeks before her own passing, Maame had travelled back to Ghana to bury her father. To lose her so soon after his death has been a double tragedy that words can scarcely express.
Maame’s loved ones, wish to return her home to Ghana so she can receive the dignified farewell she deserves, surrounded by those who knew and loved her most. The family also wish to honour Maame’s memory by continuing the work of the MEEA Foundation, ensuring that her vision and compassion live on through future acts of kindness and support for children in need.
Any amount — big or small — would be a huge blessing in helping us honour Maame’s memory and lay her to rest in her homeland, Ghana.
We thank you deeply for your compassion, prayers, and generosity during this unimaginably difficult time.
May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace.
