***Please be advised, the photos below are extremely graphic but hopefully will help you understand the scope of everything**
Hi guys! my name is Seanasea.
So normally I have a really hard time asking for help, especially financially, but Janet and I are in dire need of your help in order to get the surgery(ies) needed to help Daisy have a fighting chance against her injuries and for the further treatments ahead of her. In summary, Daisy was attacked viciously by our foster dog on Thursday, April 18th @7:30 at night. She has already had two surgeries and is looking at having to have drainage tubes and bandages removed/flushed daily which is a minimum of $60-$100+ a day for roughly the next two months+. She is also at risk of needing more surgeries in order to full recover if the necrotized skin doesn’t heal properly after this last surgery. So the funds that we are able to gather will help us alleviate some of the financial pressure as it is already becoming quite strenuous for us.
The full Story:
As some of you know, we fostered a dog about 3 months ago. We were careful and did rigorous training with this foster but unfortunately this dog had more trauma than anybody involved was initially told. Five minutes before the attack both Daisy and Cleo (the rescue) were laying in bed with me snuggling. I let them outside once we got up, went to go grab myself some water and then meet them outside to work on some play time and let them enjoy the sunset. These dogs ate together, slept together, walked together and loved to run together but in under 30 seconds of me running inside to grab some water, I heard growling. I rushed to the backyard thinking that maybe somebody was trying to get into my gate or that there was some sort of threat to which I found Cleo biting Daisy on the neck viciously. There wasn’t a toy, bone or (that I could see/tell) any sort of rodent that sparked this switch in Cleo. I don’t know what happened in such a short amount of time. But what I do know is that it was one of the most horrific things I’ve ever experienced.
This wasn’t a typical dog scuffle, it wasn’t just a spat; this dog was trying to physically kill Daisy and unfortunately Daisy didn’t really have any real way of defending herself. I tried to get Cleo off of her but failed, repeatedly. Eventually a neighbour hopped the fence to help after hearing my screams for Cleo to stop (thank you) and even then we couldn’t get Cleo off of Daisy without risking being seriously injured ourselves. Eventually a friend who was just around the corner appeared and we were able to get Cleo to detach from Daisys neck and Daisy inside where we went to assess her wounds.
Once inside it was evident that Daisy had to go to the vet immediately as her wounds were plenty and extremely deep. Not even an hour later Daisy was in emergency surgery but with any sort of dog bite comes immense risk of infection and complications due to their mouths being full of bacteria.
With her first surgery she was subject to 19 sutures, a drainage tube in her neck and 4 staples. The following day we had to add a few more staples to her leg wounds and on the third day we had to put a drainage tube in her leg. The entire time she has been on a strict schedule of sedatives, pain killers and antibiotics. Collectively this surgery cost us over $3,000 with the surgery plus her daily care. (Waiting for vet to email all receipts as I’ve misplaced some of the paper ones)
Now, post surgery, Daisy is experiencing an extreme case of necrotizing skin and due to this she requires another surgery ($4,000+). This procedure is major, drastic and requires a very long road of recovery that could result in other surgeries and at least two months of daily or bidaily bandage changes and flushing of the drainage tubes. (More photos of receipts are coming, just waiting for vet to email them all)

(Full list of vet bills so far below)
If you can even spare $2 to help us give Daisy a fighting chance with not only her healing but also her chance at survival, Janet and I would forever be grateful for you. We have already had to take off work and go in lot our shifts late to ensure Daisy’s care is met and will most definitely have to take off more time when necessary which will also affect our income. If you can’t afford to donate anything, please just share this far and wide. There are truly no words for how much we appreciate your time and generosity.
This process is going to be long, extremely hard and very expensive on top of already being very traumatic and tragic, but Daisy is one of the most important things in our lives. She’s still young and full of life. She deserves to have a fighting chance. She’s a good girl with incredible spirit and an admirable heart, a heart that is honestly bonded to my own. I can’t even begin to express how much this dog means to us. She’s my heart dog, our snugget, our little baby nugget, she’s da dais, our daisy baby, Daisy dukes, the dukey, and honestly our whole entire world.
I will be updating this to ensure everyone can follow Daisy on her road to recovery and cheer her on. We need all the positive healing wishes and vibes we can get at this time. Again, thank you all so much for taking the time to read, for your donations, your time, your love, your positive vibes, your shares and everything in between. Thank you ❤️
*The photos below are extremely graphic and honestly just kind of get worse as time goes on, so please be aware of that but below you will find the photos in chronological order. The first initial photos I took of the wounds were hard to capture because she was soaked in blood and in immense pain but you
Just after the attack at the vets (hard to get photos of each wounds because of her dark fur and significant amount of blood everywhere coupled with her pain):
after the first surgery:
Hard to tell cause the photo had to be cropped but this drainage tube is from the top of her neck directly through to the bottom:
Part of the top of head/neck, again had to crop:
Area where you can see the skin necrotizing:
Aftera drainage tube inserted into her leg:
***VERY graphic***
Area of necrotizing skin, extremely painful and hard, noticing it around the back of ear, neck and around the tube area:
went for our daily tube flushing and the skin fell apart:
Post surgeryshe now has a different tube placed into her leg to better help drain it and she has her head wrapped in bandages that need to be replaced daily. She was sent home with more antibiotics and sedatives, so we now have to administer her 5 different medications on a very strict schedule at home as well as bring her to vet for wounds to be debandaged, pumped with antibiotics, and tubes flushed. I have no been able to get a pic of her but will add one when she’s awake. For now she’s just been a very sore and sleepy baby.
This is a lot right now but if she can overcome this she’s set to live a long and happy life. Thank you again for taking the time to view our gofund me. ❤️
Receipts from procedures so far:

Daily drainage since first surgery

Her second surgery as well has the next day for drainage and bandage changes:

How Daisy is looking after second surgery:

Always wanting to lay in the sun when she can. She really is our little sunshine. ❤️
I will continue to update everybody as her care continues. Thank for checking in and thank you for your support. I know Daisy would give kisses to every one of you if she could. ❤️
Updated medical bills:
Some of Daisy’s vet bills from more of her continued care. I think I’m missing a couple between mine and Jan’s car but just for transparency, here are the ones I was able to find:

As we stated in her update, the vet feels confident enough to finally remove her bandages! So that’s a positive thing for today but we are still going to have to play it by ear (literally) for the next little while. Hoping we won’t have to switch back because she was getting soooooo incredibly tired of those tight and itchy bandages being around her head. So today was a win and we’re hoping that this is the next step to her being fully healed! Thank you all so much for your donations, love, shares, offers of help and everything in between. We honestly couldn’t be doing this without you guys. There will never be enough words to express our absolute love and gratitude for each of you. ❤️ Stay tuned for the next update!
