Help us stay afloat.

First off I want to say this is not something we want to do and isn't us. Asking for help is not
easy. But we thank you for taking the time to read about Matt Anderson.

Some of you know but many do not, the week of Oct 5th Matt started to get a strange rash on the left side of his forehead with some bumps along his hairline. We had no idea what it was, we thought it was stress hives.  On Saturday Oct 9th Matt was in pain, a lot of pain. On Sunday his left eye was
double vision and wasn't moving right. On Monday Oct 12th we went to Urgent Care where they diagnosed him with shingles. The urgent care dr was
worried about his eye movement and set up an eye appointment just a couple hours after seeing her. He saw the eye dr and he wanted Matt to be
admitted into the hospital right away. He had shingles in his eye which is really rare (only 10%) of people get it in the eye. Matt’s left eye was stuck in
the middle and would not move left. He could see but he had double vision.

On Oct 13th Matt went to the ER for admission.  While waiting in the ER for a room the ER staff did blood work, gave him an IV of an anti viral
medicine and also did a spinal tap. Many hours later Matt had a room in isolation because Shingles is an  infectious disease. I was the only one able to
visit him during his stay.

Matt was in the hospital for 4 days getting antiviral medicine by IV every 8 hours. He had an infectious disease dr, neurologist and an on staff dr. The
spinal tap had shown the infection was slightly in his brain. They ordered an MRI which thankfully came back normal.

On Oct 16th Matt was released from the hospital and was to have treatment at home. They put a picc in his arm and we were to administer IV meds
at home every 8 hours for 2 weeks and follow up with the neurologist, infectious disease dr, and his family dr.  His medical diagnose is Bell's palsy, lateral rectus palsy and herpes zoster of the eye.

As of Nov 24th his eye is moving almost completely. It is blurry and has double vision from time to time. The doctors expect him to be out of work
about another month.

Matt went on FMLA and short term disability on Oct 12th.  His short term disability payment isn’t even a 1/4 of his normal pay check.  Doctor bills are
starting to come in and normal bills are piling up.

Here is the hard part. If you have the means to help us out that would be much appreciated. We know times are rough for everyone. If not please
share this for us.

We appreciate anyone who reads Matt’s story. We are just trying to stay afloat during this time.

Please pray for Matt’s continued improvement. We hope he is completely healed soon and back to work January 2021.

Thank you!!
