Help Save Shadow

I am posting this for Brooke Beaudoin. She was unsure if it would be appropriate to ask for help in this situation. Anyone who knows Brooke, knows Shadow is her baby. I don’t think I know anyone who loves her dog more than Brooke! On Tuesday evening Shadow got into the garbage and ate cooked rib bones. We had him seen at an emergency vet clinic the next day, we were hoping the bones would pass on their own with aid of medication. On Friday Shadow took a turn for the worst and needed emergency abdominal surgery to remove the bone that caused a blockage. During pre-op testing we found out Shadow was bleeding internally and needed a blood transfusion to increase platelet count. After surgery his platelet count dropped again. We decided to take him to Capital City Specialty &

Emergency Animal Hospital in Ottawa to have his admitted. He was given a second blood transfusion to stop the bleeding. He will be spending 3-5 days in the hospital being monitored by specialist. So far we have spent $3000 to have him seen locally. We were given an estimate of $8000-$12000 CAD in veterinary bills to finish his stay. Shadow is only 5 years young and we love him so much! We would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give us to help with his vet bills.
