With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved Sara passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, surrounded by family. Though only 11, Sara’s courage, joy, and love left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Those who knew Sara will remember her bright laugh, her love for dance and music, her endless imagination, and her deep care for others — especially her little sister, Ava. Even in the hardest moments of her battle with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), she found ways to give, to connect, and to lift the spirits of those around her.
Sara was altruistic beyond her years. In only a few months, she helped raise over $30,000 for DIPG research at SickKids Hospital. She often spoke about wanting to help other families walking the same path, so no one would feel alone in the face of this devastating diagnosis.
Honouring Sara’s Wish
In that spirit, 100% of donations to this GoFundMe will go toward launching the foundation Sara dreamed of — Sara’s Light.
The mission of Sara’s Light will be:
- Funding DIPG research so that one day, no family has to endure what Sara’s family has faced
- Providing practical and emotional support to families navigating DIPG, from diagnosis through their journeys
- Keeping Sara’s legacy alive through acts of kindness, community events, and awareness-building in her name
Helping fulfill Sara’s vision is the most meaningful way to support Anjana, Rohit, and Ava as they grieve and carry her light forward. With your generosity, Sara’s love will continue to shine — bringing hope, comfort, and strength to others.
