Lauren's Bike Accident Dentist Fund
Donation protected

Last Saturday, Lauren was on a bike ride with her boyfriend, and fell, as she describes it, teeth first into the pavement. As a performance artist in Seattle, Washington, she is not privy to the benefits of many "normal" full-time jobs, like dental insurance, and is now saddled with the huge bill she incurred from breaking her teeth.
Lauren spent her twenties raising her talented, brilliant and empathetic now 17 year old son, often by herself. Her spare time was consumed perfecting her craft and building her business in order to support him and herself, and she has done this despite the changing landscape that renders it nearly impossible to support yourself financially as a creative in Seattle. But she's fought all these years to provide the ultimate example for those around her that if you follow your dreams, you can reap the returns. We, her besties, have benefitted greatly from her example, and because she would never, ever do this for herself, we decided to start this fund to try and ease some of the strain of paying out of pocket for this extremely expensive dental procedure.
We're not always physically around to care for Lauren as she has for us, right now one of us is in the Bay, and always while we're out in the wide world Lauren's at home, shopping new ideas to gain new clients and caring for her son without the benefit of child support. The fact that there aren't recourses available to help with her dentistry, like affordable dental insurance, is a slap in the face to someone who has so selflessly struggled for everyone around her for her entire adult life, but hopefully this will help mitigate some of the stress she's experiencing this year with her recent move and her son beginning to apply to colleges (yay!!)
Every penny donated goes directly to her, and in turn, directly to her dentist. Every dollar helps, and thanks in advance for helping to support our beautiful, brilliant friend, especially because she's never ask you herself.
All our love,
