TJ's 10-82 Cancer Fight Fund
The fight against cancer seems to be a never-ending battle against mankind. I know of NO ONE who can say cancer HAS NOT touched them personally, or at least someone they know. I myself lost my mother to cancer and know first hand what a battle for survival cancer is. As you may know TJ Wilham has a rare form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which he has been fighting since 2002. Over this decades long fight; the numerous rounds of chemotherapy have failed to completely kill the cancer and as a result it just recently aggressively returned.
TJ was given some very challenging options by his team of doctors; either start a very aggressive treatment plan including chemotherapy and a stem-cell transplant or live with an almost certain guarantee that the cancer will never be fully eradicated and therefore be the eventual cause of his death.
TJ took the wise advice of his treatment team and opted for extensive chemotherapy and a full stem-cell transplant, giving him a 90% chance that his cancer will be completely cured – never to return.
This presented some additional challenges as the best treatment facility for this very complex procedure is at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas.
As a result TJ and his wife Tammi have been forced to make some very drastic changes to include having to rent an apartment in Houston, TX during his 3-month long treatment plan. This has created a large increase in their families monthly housing expenses. TJ and Tammi have BOTH been forced to take 3-months off from their careers, as TJ’s therapy mandates he have a caregiver with him 24/7 as he progresses through this very difficult treatment. A significant portion of their time away from work will likely be unpaid and thus creating a compounding financial burden.
In addition to this financial and physical hardship, TJ will not be allowed to have physical contact with his three young children for the entire 3-months of treatment, due to his compromised immune system. His kids Riley age 9, Regan age 6 and his one-year-old baby boy Ryan have all been taken to stay with relatives out-of-state.
As if separating from their home and children is not devastating enough, TJ and Tammi are faced with a financial shortfall of $10-15 thousand dollars as a result of this illness.
Despite this hardship TJ and his family continue to keep a positive attitude and a fighting spirit as their entire family hangs in the balance.
Let's ALL help TJ with his fight against Hodgkin's Lymphoma, as this is truly TJ’s fight of his life – for his life!
PLEASE donate what you can to assist TJ and his family during this incredible time of need, as I know he would do the same for you.
Also, please pray for TJ and his entire family and add them to you church’s prayer lists.
