Hans's 50th Birthday Surprise!

Donation protected
Hi folks!

May 26th is just around the corner, and with it comes the 50th birthday of a man you all (hopefully) and know and love - Hans.

Half a century is no small feat. For Hans, this particular half century has not always treated him particularly well. Yet, this hasn't stopped him from bringing two stunning, successful daughters into the world (one with her career already rolling and about to get married, and another with her nose in a book at Georgetown), manning an automotive repair shop with pride and integrity, and always landing on his feet even when health complications tried to trip him up. Even greater still is his ability to be a reliable, happy friend and family member given whatever obstacle life may have currently thrown his way. If anyone deserves commendation for 50 years of surviving and succeeding, I think you'll agree with me that it's Hans.

I've seen Hans go miles out of his way to assist a friend or family member, and he deserves the same treatment. Unfortunately, paying the bills (one of which coming from an expensive and demanding university) has meant that he has had to put aside one of his greatest passions aside in order to keep his family comfortable.

I'm sure you can all chime in on this one - Hans loves cars. He especially loves taking in a dusty, used car and fixing it up until it sparkles and purrs. After an accident with his last car, he bought an old Mercedes Benz and brought it back to life - one piece of wiring and paneling at a time. I've seen how he's poured hours into this car until it rolled down the street as smoothly as if it were coming straight out of a dealership. The only thing left, the last piece he's been dying to fix, is the dull paint job.

He's told me it would take $3,000 to get a new shine on the car. Because he's spending most of that money on my education, he's put off such an expensive cost.

But 50 is a special occasion, and I thought I would try to raise enough to help him achieve his goal. $3,000 is a lot, I have to admit, but it's a goal I hope I can help achieve with the help of you folks - his friends and family. Even if we can't reach our goal, any amount will go towards achieving it sooner rather than later.

Even if you can't give a lot, any amount will help in my effort to explain to him how much he means to us and how much he should celebrate his many accomplishments in his 50 years.

Below, you'll find a picture of his beloved vehicle with the dull paint spots on the hood of the car. There are more scratches and patches like that throughout the body of the car that I didn't get a picture of.

If you have any questions or concerns or messages you'd like to pass onto Hans on the day of, feel free to reach out to me (his daughter, Lauren) by clicking my name on the right side bar up there.

Thank you so much for helping me try to make this a special celebration for my dad - the friend, the loving family member, and the Man.
