Support for the Sims family

As many of you know, my brother-in-law, David Sims, has been battling issues with his feet since 2019. Charcot foot has resulted in three years of wounds, skin grafts, broken bones, braces, boots, knee scooters, wheelchairs and surgeries. While preparing for possible reconstruction surgery to his left foot, his right foot, ankle and leg suffered injury with multiple fractures in his tibia, right inner ankle and other small bones in his foot. After discussions with ortho and weighing all the options, he has chosen to have a below the knee amputation of his right leg. He is at peace with his decision and is confident he has made the right choice for the best long term results. He is optimistic that he will heal well and be able to be fitted with a new prosthetic quickly. He wants nothing more than to be able to live an active life again! Three years is enough!! David and Rachel give an enormous amount of their time, volunteering with the Peebles Athletic Boosters, Peebles Youth Soccer, Nipgen Youth Camp, their church as well as so much more!! They are usually the ones working to raise money for those in need but this time, THEY NEED OUR HELP! David’s medical bills are astronomical and prosthetics are very expensive!! Even with insurance, his out of pocket expenses will be very high! Please help as much as you can to ease some of the stress that weighs on them now and in the future! Every dollar will be appreciated greatly!

David’s surgery is scheduled for Monday, June 20th at 3pm. Please, above everything else, PRAY for a smooth surgery and recovery!! God is in control!!!
