Dear Family and Friends,
I pray that this letter finds you and your family well. It has been a whirlwind for me over the last few years, but God has allowed me to experience, play a role in and witness his glory on a grander scale, and it has brought me much closer to him in the process.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter requesting your support. My time here at the University of Arkansas has consisted of me furthering my academic success and, more importantly, strengthening my faith. I have become involved with an on campus ministry, Student Mobilization or StuMo, which places emphasis on the responsibility we have as Christians to carry out the Great Commission. I have learned the meaning of discipleship, and also been afforded the opportunity this summer to learn and apply the skills that will help me effectively profess my faith before others. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
I recently decided to pursue a nine-week discipleship project this summer, called Kaleo. Kaleo is sponsored by Student Mobilization, a nonprofit ministry and is located on many different college campuses in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas. I am becoming more aware of the godly woman I am called to be, and what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Kaleo is designed to help train me in studying the Bible, sharing my faith with others, praying with a purpose, and building strong Christian friendships. As a result of my training, I will be fully equipped with the ability to lead a Bible study and help others grow in Christ themselves. It is my deepest desire to become an example to other girls here at the University of Arkansas and make a difference in the world.
I am grateful to have been granted this opportunity to grow in my faith and would be honored and blessed if you chose to become a part of my support team. I ask you to pray for me this summer, that God would use me as a tool for His great work. In order to provide the necessary funds of $2,500 total, I am also asking you to prayerfully consider donating to help aid me in raising funds. Jesus said to his disciples, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you” (John 20:21). Above all, I would like to thank you for the constant love, prayers, and encouragement!
More information on Kaleo can be found at www.kaleo2015.com. I am incredibly blessed to have you consider giving and praying for me this summer.
Sincerely,
