Miranda's Attorney Fund

Hello, friends and family. As most of you know my daughter, Miranda, has been struggling to secure custody of her daughter, Cecilia. Cecilia's father and Miranda have been sharing custody 50/50. She is struggling only being able to see her daughter 50% of the time. Last week there was a custody hearing and Trevor and his attorney told the judge that he wanted full custody and allowing Miranda to see Cecilia  only every other weekend. He is also asking that Miranda have to pay his attorney's fees. That was surprising and devastating news for Miranda. This literally blindsided her. Cecilia and Miranda are extremely close and this would traumatize both Miranda and Cecilia. Miranda has not been able to afford an attorney despite having a full time job. Joel and I are not in the position to pay for one due to our own obligations. Miranda has never asked Trevor for child support. She once asked him for a $600 loan to pay her bills and he then sued her for it rather than wait for her to finish paying it back. Although Miranda did the best she could representing herself in court, sometimes good intentions and being genuine isn't enough.The least expensive attorney we have found would be a minimum of $5000. That is just to retain her. Cecilia's dad, Trevor, has deep pockets and so does his mother. Money is not an object for them and he is prepared to rake Miranda over the coals. The entire court proceeding last week consisted of Trevor and his attorney trying to make Miranda out to be a bad person. We all know that is far, far from the truth. Ideally, Miranda would have attorney to help her get primary custody of Cecilia. Miranda doesn't want to keep Cecilia from her dad but what Trevor is asking for is ridiculous and damaging for Cecilia. Trevor had the audacity to bring his girlfriend to the hearing last week. That is the girl that assaulted Miranda last January while Cecilia was present. Miranda is completely mortified by all of this and feels embarrassed. I told her that friends and family are here for her. She should not be embarrassed. If you can help in any way, please try.
