Help Daniela Fight Leukemia
Donation protected
April 16, 2015 marks a day where Edgar, Blanca and their daughter Daniela's life would change abruptly. Imagine picking up your daughter from school and having to rush her to emergency room because she's hunched over in pain, pale and body full of bumps. Daniela, a happy, loving 9 years old girl, wasn't having some kind of allergic reaction. She was not in pain due to a P.E. class that was straining. Daniela was faced with a more serious health issue. As a result, she was immediately admitted to emergency room and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Just like that the Blandon's life changes.
Edgar and Blanca Blandon (Daniela's parents) are one of the most wonderful, humble couple that is loved by so many. They both work in the hotel industry giving others a wonderful experience of service that's memorable. Since their daughter's sickness, Blanca had to quit her job so that she can care for her daughter’s rigorous chemotherapy that started a week ago and scheduled to continue for the next two years. Edgar, for the moment hasn't returned to work, honoring his baby girl's request to not be too far. They have yet to go back to their house as they have been spending their nights next to their daughter on a futon while watching the nurse check on Daniela's progress every 15 minutes. Daniela knows she will lose her gorgeous hair soon which has already started. Yet still smiling, she turns to her parents and assures them "don’t worry I will be fine, I've googled it and I have a high chance of recovery. You will see" Brave, positive and full of high spirit, that's Daniela!
The Blandon family will have to change their life style removing their beautiful curtain, rip off their carpet and change out the type of sofa etc... to cater to their daughter's sensitive needs. Their cooking habit and type of food has to change. Daniela cannot go back to school for the next couple of years and has to be home schooled. Despite all this there is light at the end of the tunnel. Research shows that 80% of patients diagnosed by ALL have a high chance of recovery!!! Thank God! Let Daniela be part of that percentage.
We, friends and family of the Blandon's, ask you to keep Daniela and her parents in your prayers and donate whatever you can in order to support payments toward the expenses that are surely to mount up rapidly. This fund will go not only to the medical expenses beyond what insurance MAY cover, but also for the life changes the Blandons must make as a result of this trying, demanding life experience. We are all hopeful that they will pass this time and triumph with flying colors. But most of all, we believe that Daniela is strong enough to come out winning because she is favored by God as she is the only angel for the Blandons who is their miracle. Thank you all in advance for your support and will keep you updated on Daniela's progress. She is in good hands at St Mary's Children Hospital in West Palm Beach and once her fever is down she should be returning home learning to adapt to a new way of living with Leukemia and fighting to get rid of it with Chemotherapy.
