My name is Annie. When I was fifteen years old my mother passed away after a nearly seven and a half year battle with breast cancer, she was diagnosed at 40. Fifteen years later and two & a half months after my 30th birthday on Feb. 7th 2015, I too was diagnosed with breast cancer. It has spread to my lymph nodes and a very small spot on my spine. I will start my presurgery round of chemo this friday May, 8 and there will be more treatment after surgery.
*2020 Story Update* This Story has just updated by me, Annie, it is nearing the end of the year and a deep heart warming Hello to All! The paragraph I wrote above after my diagnosis in 2015 was just the beginning of what has proven to become a life of cancer management. PET scans and radiation are a normal occurrence, every 4 months to be precise. My amazing radiologist will treat a bone metastases successfully and by my next scan more metastases will have popped up. In October of 2019, the growing bone cancer became increasingly worrying.
Sean and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniv in Oct 2020. Adopting a lady Pitt Bull named Cheech in 2018 has been our biggest delight! Cheech and Rocco are our babies. We run a European Bakery up in the Rocky Mountains, just a minutes walk from the home we bought in 2015. I run the bakery and Sean is my head baker. Being involved with New Moon Bakery and Cafe is one of my biggest joys and accomplishments and being able to share such an important experience with Sean is just simply, special.
My good friend, confidant and boss, Peter, Sean and I have decided it is best for me personally to take a much needed leave. The goal is to load up on treatments in hopes to get my cancer back to manageable, instead of it being at this terrifying level.
My brother, jokester and best friend Dan and I are reopening this GoFundMe campaign. All of your generous contributions were an ENORMOUS gift and help to Sean and I throughout the first 4 years of chemo, radiation and surgeries. We understand asking for anything during this time is the ask of a lifetime. NO ONE isn’t experiencing hardships, financially or emotionally.
