Cancer research UK
Hi my name is Jaymi and this year, I’m taking on a personal challenge by running a 5K to raise funds for cancer research — a cause that is deeply personal to me. Cancer touches nearly every family, and mine is no exception. In 2014, I lost my beautiful Nan to this devastating disease. Today, several members of my family are bravely fighting their own battles with cancer. Their strength and courage inspire me every single day.
Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, responsible for nearly 10 million deaths in 2020 alone — about one in six deaths globally. Behind every number is a face, a family, and a story. I’m running not just for my Nan and Oma, but for every family who has heard the words, "You have cancer."
By donating, you are helping fund groundbreaking research that gives hope — hope for earlier detection, better treatments, and ultimately, cures. Every step I run and every penny you give brings us closer to a future without cancer.
Please consider donating, sharing, or even coming out to support if you can. No contribution is too small — together, we can make a difference.
Let’s run for the fighters, the survivors, and the ones we’ve lost. Let’s run for hope.
Thank you so much for your support!
