Hey all. Phil here. Many that know me know I've dealt with my fair share of trials and tribulations in my life. So many tragedies and death very close to me. Then the last 4 years has been one health battle after another. Some very bleak diagnosis. Yet I have remained strong and fought/fight the fight. I believe in pushing through to the end. I also believe in living life while we have it. We are not promised tomorrow.

 

I have been blessed to be able to cross some things off my bucket list the last few years. However, this year I had the opportunity to receive one of the final permits granted to thru hike the Pacific Crest Trail. This is a 2650 mile trail that goes from Mexico/US border to the Canada/US border. I will be starting in May  right before my 47th birthday.  It is a huge challenge. For me it symbolizes all the mountains, valleys and other obstacles I've had to face and overcome. This is my destiny. My soul yearns for this. A challenge that will be extremely tough...but one I am taking on...head on. A fight that I'm choosing to take on. On my terms. If that makes sense.

 

There are expenses with this adventure of course. I will be hiking and camping for 4-6 months to reach the destination. So supplies, clothing, food, shelter when needed, potential emergencies, medical supplies are all things that need to be taken care of during that time.

 

While I am ready to start here in a couple weeks any help would be greatly appreciated. I go on regardless. But any help you can give makes the journey a bit easier. Some have asked how they can help....this is probably the best way. Shoes will break down. Equipment will break down. Food, other supplies medicines will all need to be replenished.
