We were shaken.

We were shocked.

As many of you already know, Irina has been diagnosed with cancer. For those learning this news for the first time through this page, we are deeply sorry. Cancer sucks.

Who Is Irina?

Irina’s life is marked by faith, service, and love for others.

Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, she moved with our family to Seattle, WA, in 1996. From her 6th- through 12th-grade years at Cascade Vista Baptist School with Mr. Sterling and Miss Gaupp; to her volleyball days with teammates and her favorite coach, Mrs. Tweet; from the beloved gang of Heather, Priyana, and Erica and beloved mentor Joanna; to her time at Bob Jones University; from teaching at CVBS, to teaching Sunday School and Russian school; from her many years as a member of the Galilee Baptist Church community; to being a member at Salvation Baptist Church; from teaching at Salvation Christian Academy in various needed positions over the years; to finding the love of her life; from always serving in some sort of musical ministry— from choirs to orchestras; to always being up for an adventure; from being the biggest-hearted Auntie to her nieces and nephews; to becoming our Mama’s full-time caregiver over the past five years—Irina has worn many hats over the years and has always invested deeply in the people around her.

In all of them, she serves with all of her heart and all of her might, with gentleness, vision, and profound love, and with a desire for each person to receive excellence from her as much as she is able.

All of that makes her sound like an angel—she is not! (Trust me. I’m her sister. I would know!) However, she is a pretty spectacular human being: a loyal friend, loving sister (wife, daughter, & cousin too), and steadfast servant of others. We cannot imagine a life without her. She is the MVP of our family.

Even though I am her little sister, I can’t help but be incredibly proud when I think of all the people and students she has touched with her overwhelming kindness, thoughtfulness, acts of service, and Christlikeness.

Our Hope

We refuse to imagine a world without Irina—without her light.

We choose instead to imagine a world where she fights this cancer with courage and faith. A world where we see God’s kindness in every appointment He has ordained, and in every life her story continues to touch.

We believe in praying bold prayers to the one true God for miraculous healing. At the same time, we believe God has given us medicine and science as tools to help answer those prayers.

Why We Are Asking for Help

Cancer treatment is overwhelming—emotionally, physically, and financially. As we face the reality of treatment costs and care, we are stepping out in humble faith and asking for help to cover the costs of her first round of care, including medical bills and related needs.

Кто такая Ирина?

Жизнь Ирины отмечена верой, служением и любовью к людям.
