Help Melissa Recover

Hi Everyone. As a crossing guard for various schools in the area, Melissa Cantu is an integral part of Wellington's community. She always has a smile on her face, pets for our dogs, and a joke to share to make you laugh.
On the evening of March 27, 2025, Melissa was driving home from Jacksonville where she was celebrating her sister's new baby. During what she thought was allergy related (and turned out to be a more serious diagnosis), Melissa started to uncontrollably cough to the point where she blacked out, crossing the median an hitting a utility pole.
Melissa suffered intestinal damage, five fractured ribs, severe bruising, fluid in her lungs, and air pockets behind her ribs making it hard for her to breathe. She was air lifted to St. Mary's where she remains in ICU.
Melissa is a fighter and continues to defy the odds and make small but significant progress daily. However, she will be out of work until August at a minimum.
To ease some of the significant financial burdens, we are humbly asking her community for help. The funds raised will go directly to Melissa for any financial needs she has. Any amount you are able to contribute is appreciated and if you aren't able to contribute, we ask that you please share.
